Individual & Couples* Counseling

Regardless of the number of people in the room, you can expect that sessions will last approximately 50 minutes. In the first session, we will complete any outstanding paperwork, discuss your concerns and goals, and get to know each other. If for any reason one of us feels that it is not a good fit, I will do my best to find another clinician to whom I can refer you. Sometimes finding the right therapist is like finding the right car; you might have to “test drive” more than one before you feel like you can get where you want to go. 50-minute sessions are $120 per session.

*I also offer extended 90-minute sessions for counseling conducted with more than one individual. Some clients feel that they are able to get more accomplished in this amount of time than in the standard 50-minute sessions. Please let me know if you are interested in extended sessions when scheduling. Extended sessions are $175 per session.

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an approach to therapy originally developed to treat trauma. Research has proven it to be very effective in treating many conditions including, but not limited to, disturbing memories, panic attacks, and many others. For more information, click here: EMDR. Feel free to contact Alexis to see if this may be a helpful approach for treating your specific concerns. Note that EMDR is conducted in a regular, 50-minute session ($120 per session).

On-line Counseling

As a busy, working mom, I understand that sometimes it may make more sense to “meet” on-line than face-to-face. If this is true for you, please let me know and we can discuss this as an option. I ask that all clients I serve meet me face-to-face (in-office) at least one time before we begin any on-line counseling services. You will need to have reliable access to a secure internet connection and working computer (both provided by you) if we both agree that this is a good fit. Note that on-line sessions are conducted in a regular, 50-minute format ($120 per session).

Premarital Counseling

According to Prepare/Enrich, Premarital Counseling “…has been found to reduce the rate of divorce by 30%,” (Prepare/Enrich). I love working with couples, especially those in this place in their relationship. If you are looking to prepare for marriage, this is a great investment of your time and money.

I am a firm believer in the addage that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Thus, I recommend my six-session package ($650 total) to get you and your partner started in your marital journey. This can be done as six regular couples’ sessions or for $35, you can complete the Prepare/Enrich assessment (on-line) which many find to be a helpful, interesting tool in exploring topics such as communication, conflict resolution, and financial management. Please let me know if you have any questions about this process.
